Pierre Marie Brisson’s latest series of 11 works on paper thematically explores the artist’s process as he works during the pandemic. These textural studies were created in a much smaller format which he attributes to following a consistent routine in response to the day-to-day stillness of his studio. Brisson constructed the series utilizing his customary collage technique in which he cuts, paints, and folds his shapes into captivating designs. Birds and butterflies are favored subjects of Pierre Marie's-- both familiar yet entirely new, a reflection of this unusual time in our lives.
